Hunting for Thanks

While I was in Phoenix spending Thanksgiving with my family Jacob went hunting for coyotes. In Thatcher, if you can get one with nice fur you can skin them and sell the fur, her skin would not have been worth it so Jacob just decided to boil and keep the skull.

One day my family decided to go to the lake and play with our cousins in canoes. Garrett and his friend found a fish. I got him and it was pretty gross.

Soft Face

I dont exactly have a story to go with these pictures except that i like them. he had just shaved his beard so his face was really soft and he let me touch his cheeks all through the movie. I didnt know then but right after he shaves his lips are really really soft too!

Classroom Silliness

After we had held hands for a while and i was comfortable with the idea i sent Jacob this picture. I was in History and was bored like usual, so i drew a picture and sent it to him. Good thing the teacher liked me because i sat on the second row and i really think he would have said something if anyone else were to draw pictures in his class. i typically doodled in his class though. the outsides of my notebook are covered in names, mostly Jacob in various fonts, colors, and nicknames.

!!He Held My HAND!!

This is one of my favorite memories of us. It’s the story of when Jacob first held my hand. He had invited me on a weekend date in round valley, which is about 2 ish hours away. There were 6-8 couples going and we were all going up on Friday night, sleeping at a friends Andy Bingham's house then the next day we were all going to quading. We had to take 3 cars to fit all of the people and quads in my car we had 3 couples and one girl who couldn’t go with her date because of car seating. I got to sit next to Jacob, and because it was late we were all kind of falling asleep. Jacob was against the window and I was against him. After about an hour of driving and several adjustments until we were comfortable our hands got to the point where they could brush each other and it made me really excited because, this may sound silly but I had never held hands before. Kissed-yes, made out-yes, hugged-yes, held hands-no. So I was all excited and eventually he moved so it was UN avoidable. We held hands until we got there. When we got to Andy house his parents had food for all of us. We ate and chatted with his parents and younger siblings until they all went to bed.

Jacob was sleepy. He had shaved his head a few days before, what you cant see is that he still has a full beard.

Then the fun really began!! As it turns out there is a covered stadium just across the street from Andy’s house. They call it the dome for obvious reasons. We all decided to climb up the dome and wait for the football team to get back from their game and it was a blast! Because it’s a dome it was really hard to start climbing up it because the sides are really steep then it evens out along the top though it is never really flat. Once we got on top there was not a whole lot to do and it was cold so Jacob and I decided to see who could find the most shooting stars.

The hardest part, not to mention scariest, of the entire dome experience is getting down. You can’t just walk down, if you had a little tumble down you would either be dead wish you were. You eventually get down on your butt and scoot until gravity gets you and you slide from a reasonable distance. We walked back to Andy’s house and all the girls went to their beds. We stayed up chatting, and I admitted for the first time out loud that I liked Jacob. What I found out the next morning, from Jacob, was that while we were all being girls staying up and talking the guys decided to make a second trip up dome… wearing only their shoes!! I would have frozen to death it was cold enough wearing pants, long sleeves and jackets!

-Next day-
We all ate breakfast, I got to pet a real live pet pig named bacon, we gassed up the quads, picked up some snacks and headed out. We rode for several hours and had a fun time. Every once in a while we would stop and snack, walk around, wait for slow people etc.

This is one of the stops.

On one of the stops we went for a little hike. Jacob was bored with the conversations so he pulled out his pocketknife and carved his initials in a tree. He realized that we still had time before we headed back to our quads and he carved mine in the tree as well. That was pretty exciting to me. Throughout our ride I rode on the back of Jacob’s quad. By the time we were done riding everybody had black faces it was pretty funny.

I Sure Know how to Pick Them

I love this picture, not because i look good but because of the story that goes with it.
This is the very beginning of October.
Ok, Jacob and i had been messing around with our phones taking weird pictures and we came up with this one. I thought it was funny and decided to send it to my dad. He teased about how very attractive the pictures and asked if it was kinda like a game of finders keepers. As dad and i were texting back and forth i was reading his texts to Jacob and we just laughed about it. Dad sent me a random text a little while later that said "you sure know how to pick um' kid."When I laughed Jacob asked what dad said this time, i remember being embarrassed and not wanting to read it out loud to Jacob. Probably because i felt like dad was right.

More Time Together

All of these pictures were taken on different days hence the different clothes and facial hair, on him not me.

Especially after that first date i realized that if nothing else i was comfortable around Jacob and his roommates Ryan and JT. So, i started popping in and out of their house whenever i had nothing to do. If Jacob was home i almost always sat by him and we would talk, watch TV, take silly pictures of ourselves, and my favorite was to ask him to tell me stories. His favorite stories to tell are about him and his brothers when they were younger and mission stories, i love them all.
This picture is more recent than the others you can tell because i am wearing his watch. i found it on the dryer one day when we/he was doing laundry, obviously, and put it on. i have had it on since then around the end of September.

This was a Sunday and for some reason i was dressed up more than i normally do for church, i can't say i remember why. however i do remember going to family dinner at his parents and playing card games with his sisters after we ate.

If you notice in this picture we are sitting on a brown leather couch but at the top of the picture there is a lighter part, that is another couch that they have sitting on top of a huge football stadium speaker. this is so they can fit 4 couches in 1 tiny living room.

New Clothes... Well New to Me

It just so happens that the grey t-shirt I'm wearing in this picture was once upon a time Jacobs. It is officially one of my favorites now still. I actually got it on the night i went on my first date with Jacob. You see when we got home from our long long long cold motorcycle ride i was still soaking wet. I went to my house and as it happens my roommate was gung-ho about locking the doors for the longest time. Well instead of climbing through the window like i later became accustomed to i just walked back to Jacobs house where i got a pair of PJ pants and this grey t-shirt. well i didn't have a dry bra and i didn't wanna go without so by the time i left i had bra shaped wet-marks on my shirt.. pretty embarrassing as a matter of fact.
If you notice there happens to be a very good looking quilt on my bed behind me my sister made it for me for my birthday.
